Every engagement begins with understanding your goals, circumstances, priorities, and concerns. Services and recommendations are then tailored to the agreed scope.
Discuss your financial situation, goals, current advisers, and the decisions you are trying to make. Determine whether Foothills Investments appears to be an appropriate fit.
Define the services, responsibilities, expected deliverables, fees, conflicts, and duration. Review the advisory agreement and applicable Form ADV disclosures.
Collect relevant financial statements, account information, tax information, estate documents, insurance information, business information, and other supporting materials.
Evaluate your financial circumstances, investments, objectives, risk tolerance, time horizon, and planning alternatives. Present written recommendations where included in the engagement.
Decide which recommendations to implement. Implementation remains the client’s decision unless Foothills Investments has been separately engaged for discretionary investment management.
For ongoing relationships, monitor progress and review accounts and planning assumptions. Formal investment-account reviews are conducted at least annually, with additional reviews as appropriate.
Written financial plans are generally expected to be completed within six months after the advisory agreement is signed, provided the client supplies requested information promptly.
Financial-planning engagements generally terminate on the 12-month anniversary unless the parties enter into a new or continuing agreement.
